Finding a Therapist in Fairfield Who Actually Gets It
If you're looking for a therapist in Fairfield, CT, you've probably scrolled through dozens of profiles that all sound exactly the same. Big group practices where you never see the same person twice, corporate therapy chains, directories full of clinicians who could be anywhere doing anything.
Here's what makes working with me different: I'm a solo practitioner serving clients throughout Fairfield and the greater Fairfield County area. When you work with me, you get me, not a rotating roster of therapists, not someone reading from a treatment manual. Just authentic, grounded therapy that goes deeper than surface-level coping strategies.
I'm Angelina Miceli, LCSW, and my practice is located in a beautifully restored barn in Southport (just minutes from downtown Fairfield). It's the kind of space that actually feels conducive to healing - warm, private, and nothing like a sterile medical building.
Therapy Services I Provide in Fairfield County
Anxiety Therapy in Fairfield, CT
Maybe you've been telling yourself you're just a "worrier," but the racing thoughts, tight chest, and constant second-guessing have become exhausting. You're done managing symptoms and ready to understand where this anxiety actually comes from.
Here's what I want you to know: anxiety isn't always just anxiety. Sometimes it's your nervous system's response to unprocessed experiences and trauma still living in your body even when your mind has moved on. In our work together, we'll figure out what's underneath and address the root cause, not just the symptoms. Learn more about my approach to anxiety therapy →
Trauma Therapy & EMDR in Fairfield
If you keep having the same reactions, the same triggers, the same patterns playing out in different relationships, that's your system telling you something needs to be processed. I use EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help your nervous system finally release what it's been holding onto.
This isn't talk therapy where we rehash the same stories for years. These are evidence-based approaches that create real, lasting change. Discover how I work with unresolved trauma →

Who I Work With in Fairfield & Surrounding Areas
I specialize in working with men, women and young adults (17+) who are done with quick fixes and ready to do deeper work. The high-achievers who look like they have it together but are quietly struggling. The cycle-breakers committed to healing generational patterns. The college students and emerging adults trying to navigate the unique pressures of life in Fairfield County.
Living in this area comes with specific challenges: the competitive culture, the unspoken expectations, the way everyone seems perfect on the surface. As a therapist who's worked extensively with clients in Fairfield, Southport, Westport, Norwalk, and throughout the county, I understand these dynamics intimately.

My Approach to Therapy in Fairfield, CT
I draw from multiple therapeutic modalities - psychodynamic therapy, CBT, REBT, EMDR, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) - because your healing journey isn't one-size-fits-all. Different moments require different approaches, and our work together will be completely tailored to what you specifically need.
Here's what you can expect: I bring warmth and humanness to our sessions that helps you feel comfortable, heard, and truly seen. I will be real with you. I might swear (if that's your vibe), I will challenge you when you're being too hard on yourself or making excuses for people who don't deserve them, and I'll ask the exact questions you need to hear, even when they're uncomfortable.
Talking to me feels like talking to that person in your life who knows just the right questions to ask, exactly when to call you on your BS, and always when you just need to be heard.
But here's my promise: you will never feel judged. Not for where you are, what you're struggling with, or how long it's taken you to get here.
Practical Details About Working Together
I see clients both in-person at my Southport office (just minutes from downtown Fairfield) and virtually throughout Connecticut, Vermont, and South Carolina. My practice operates out-of-network, which means you work with me directly without insurance company limitations on what we can address or how long we can work together.
Each session is completely individualized to where you are and what you need. Some weeks we might focus on skill-building, other weeks we're processing something that came up, and sometimes we just need to sit with what's hard without trying to fix it immediately.
